Mama Moon and the Rump Shakers, a dynamic 6-piece blues fusion ensemble hailing from Washington, DC, burst onto the scene in June 2021. Infusing a distinctive creativity into the blues genre, they honor its soulful roots while crafting a unique musical identity. At the helm is Mama Moon, renowned as DC's Goddess of the Blues and the barefoot blues sensation. The band enthralls audiences with a vibrant stage presence and an eccentric sense of style that sets them apart.
Beyond their catchy moniker, Mama Moon and the Rump Shakers have etched their mark on the music scene, claiming the title of 2022 DC Blues Society Battle of the Band Champions and securing a spot in the semi-finals of the prestigious 2023 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Currently in the throes of crafting their debut EP, the band is deeply immersed in the rich tapestry of Washington, DC's lively music scene.
